Dear Parents / Carers,
During Term 6 students in Years 7 – 10 and in Year 12 will be taking a range of assessments in all of their subjects. In most cases these will be tests/examinations but, where applicable, practical assessments may also be used. All of these assessments are taking place during the period Monday 12th June to Thursday 29th June.
The following notes give more detail about how each cohort is affected:
Years 7 and 8
Students will complete most of their assessments in in their normal timetabled lessons /rooms.
English and Mathematics will in most cases however be taken in a central exam location, with students being issued with a timetable detailing venues, times and seat locations for these.
Students will take formal examinations in English, Mathematics and Science in central exam locations. Each student is issued with a timetable detailing venues, times and seat locations. All other subjects will hold their assessments in normal timetabled lessons / rooms.
Years 10 and 12
(‘New’ A Level Subjects, not ones where an AS exam has been taken)
Students will take formal examinations in central exam locations for all of their subjects. Each student is issued with a timetable detailing venues, times and seat locations.
Please note that normal timetable lessons continue to take place when students are not in exams. Subject teachers will give their students additional information and guidance in the build-up to the assessments. The results will be communicated to you in the End of Year Report which will be issued in July.
